This is my fourth year at South Beloit High School teaching Social Studies.
I have classes in Government, Consumer Education, Psychology and Sociology, and World History.
I graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1983 and worked as a paralegal in the criminal justice field for many years. I learned very quickly what a high school diploma can do and what the lack of one can bring. I spent many hours talking with clients in the jail and few, if any, had a high school diploma. There is a huge correlation between dropping out of school and ending up in prison. I decided I wanted to help keep kids in school. I went back and got my Masters in Education at Rockford College. It has been an eye opening experience, and I'm having a great time. I hope the kids are, too!
