Blackhawk Elementary has general music classes for 5th grade. The 5th grade classes perform two concerts per year with a Winter concert and a Spring concert.

Band is also available for both grades.  The 5th grade parents and students meet during the fall parent teacher conferences to learn about the band.  They soon begin with small group lessons for a few weeks until we can meet as a group.  The 6th grade band begins at the beginning of the year and prepares for and performs at the Winter concert.  After the winter holiday break the 5th and 6th grade bands combine to form the Blackhawk Elementary Band!  The combined band then performs at the Spring Concert.

If your student did not start in the 5th grade or for some reason stopped playing during the year they are welcome to still join the 6th grade band in the Fall.  Just talk to Mr. Provance and let's get going!
