Class Descriptions

Art I emphasizes fundamental drawing skills. Students complete geometric and figurative schematics; anatomical, cartoon, and grid drawings; and receive a small introduction into acrylic painting.

Painting begins with fundamental and advance drawing techniques, and transitions into color through the use of pastels. It covers watercolors, acrylics, and oils, as well as pen & ink, and mixed media. Students will learn a variety of traditional and progressive techniques. Students enrolled in

Computer Art will use editing, illustration, animation, photo and web tools to create works in the computer lab. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Power Point and Dream Weaver will be taught.

In 3-D Art, the first semester will be devoted to architecture. Students will construct a model dream home. In the second semester, students will work on sculpture and ceramics. They will create hand and wheel thrown clay projects.
