Hi! My name is Amy Larson.  I have been teaching in the South Beloit School District since August of 2000! I teach 7th grade Reading and English.  I have my Masters Degree in Leadership and Education.  I have been married since July of 2000 and have a daughter named Ava who was born in 2006 and a son named Alex who was born in 2009.  My husband's name is Adam.... so we are all A's :)

I love to teach Reading and English. In English we use SHURLEY curriculum which I think helps the students so much with their grammar and writing. I have been so impressed with this program! I even get to sing and make a fool out of myself sometimes!   We work on 4 types of Writing ( Expository, Persuasive, Narrative  and  Research) I love to read and keep up with the teen literature that is out there.  I love Hunger Games Series and love anything Vampire.  I love Vampire Diaries! If a student needs a book to read I love trying to figure out what they would like. Every year in 7th grade we read "The Outsiders" which is one of my all time favorite books. Teaching is something I really enjoy especially when I see a student begin to love reading and writing!
