Forensics for kids is not about science and dead bodies. It is about creating a fun new approach to teach public speaking for young children. The connection between reading, writing and speaking is so strong that encouraging children to speak in front a group will enhance their reading and writing skills. Learning to speak in front of a group at a young age will also make life easier as a child goes through their school career and as an adult.
Each child at Riverview will give a speech in front of their class. Those students who are comfortable with speaking publicly can choose to go on to our grade level competitions and hopefully our regional competition.
This year we had 23 students compete. They had fun learning the valuable skill of public speaking. If you didn't compete this year prepare yourself well and try it next year. You might be surprised at how much fun you will have.
